Hotel chain Pavilionss

The company has signed an agreement with UK payment service Coindirect to accept more than 40 digital assets, including bitcoin and Ethereum.

Major hotel chain Pavilions Hotels & Resorts will allow customers to pay with cryptocurrency for room reservations from July 7. The announcement was made to Forkast.News by the company's managing director for Asia, Scott Toon. He said Pavilions Hotels & Resorts has partnered with UK payment service Coindirect to accept more than 40 cryptocurrencies for payment, including Bitcoin and Ethereum.

Toon explained that the company decided to start using digital assets as they are actively entering the retail sector. By partnering with Coindirect, the company will be able to store the cryptocurrency in its own accounts, as well as convert it into fiat when needed.

The volatility of cryptocurrencies is often cited as a problem that hinders their adoption in the financial sector, but fiat currencies are not immune to price fluctuations and are only part of international business, Thun added.

In late May, convenience store chain Sheetz, one of the largest in the northeastern US, announced plans to accept cryptocurrency as a means of payment at retail outlets. It is the first convenience store chain to allow customers to pay with digital currencies.
